Different MyBus Booking Types

Standard

The majority of bookings made for MyBus journeys are standard bookings.  These bookings are made the day before travel (or on Fridays for Monday travel and on Thursdays for Sunday travel).

You can request a standard booking for each day of the week your service operates.

Example: Mr Pettigrew calls the M91 booking line on Monday at 0900 to book a trip for the following day.

Advance Bookings

Advance bookings allow customers to make either one return journey or two single journeys per week, for up to four weeks ahead.  Advance bookings are in addition to standard bookings.

Example: Mrs O’Donnell calls the M96 booking line on a Monday at 1400 to book trips for the following four Saturdays. She calls the M96 booking line on a Thursday at 0900 to book for the following day.

Group Bookings

Subject to availability MyBus will explore the possibility of arranging a group booking for your club, group or residence where a minimum of 3 passengers are going to the same place at the same time. Once arranged group bookings are scheduled automatically by MyBus and do not required to be re-booked for each trip.

Example: Arnott Nursing Home in the M14 service area have a group booking for 10 residents to the local shopping centre each Friday morning at 1000 returning for them 1200.

Same Day Bookings

Same Day bookings are permissible on both MyBus and MyBus Rural services.  A minimum of two hours notice must be given for any same day booking request and availability is likely to be extremely limited.

Example: Mrs Clarkson uses the R900 service to travel to work at Murphy Nursing Home.  She requires be collected at1700.  Mrs Clarkson can call the R900 booking line no later than 1500 to book her trip.

Web Bookings

Web bookings allow passengers to book trips up to seven days ahead and can be made at any time, day or night.  Service users making web bookings can still book standard trips via the MyBus contact centre, but can no longer make use of Advance Bookings.

Example: Mr Randolph likes to travel first thing in the morning but he can often be out when his booking line opens. By using MyBus Web Mr Randolph can make his booking via his PC leaving him free to make his early morning journeys.
